Association between nut consumption and coronary heart disease: a meta-analysis.

Coronary heart disease (CHD) is less likely to occur in individuals who are frequent consumers of nuts.

This study evaluated the relationship between nut consumption and the development of coronary heart disease (CHD). Researchers analyzed data obtained from 14 studies that examined 6,302 cases of coronary heart disease.

Researchers found out that high intake of nuts reduced the likelihood of developing coronary heart disease. According to this study, the incidence of coronary heart disease was found to decrease by 10% for every 1 serving per week increment in nut consumption. The results of this study show that eating large quantities of nuts may confer individuals with significant protection against coronary heart disease.
