Hi Joan, The science on plant sterols is not convincing enough for me to recommend them in supplement form, but eating veggies for breakfast makes a world of difference. https://www.drcarney.com/starch-smart-system/starch-smartest

There are some companies out there that use BPA free cans. Here is an article I just found with a list of some of them: http://www.organicauthority.com/8-companies-that-use-bpa-free-lining-in-canned-foods/

Hi Denise, Great questions, and so complicated to answer. How many high-oxalate foods a person (who is new to a whole-food low-fat oil-free plant-based diet) can tolerate (without suffering another oxalate stone) depends on factors too numerous to elaborate unless I am able to ask that person about 28 more questions. Therefore, I hope that person will choose to invest their time into a consult with a knowledgeable plant-based physician who knows what to ask, and how to advise. The consequences of guessing can be painful in this situation, so we want solid advice, customized for that person's age, renal status, medical history, current blood and urine test results, and habits of what they are willing (or not willing) to eat and drink. If that person could gather their medical records and call for a phone consult, they could get to their goals much faster. https://www.veggievore.com/advice/one-hour-custom-coaching-consultation Kind Regards, Dr. Carney
